THE WARS OF CORONAVIRUS

Coronavirus has been the order of the day, with people talking about it, thinking about it, worrying about it, playing safe about it....phew! its all been covid-19.....now lets go a little deep into the matter and help ourselves out with some little information, shall we..........
                     Firstly, what is Coronavirus?
Coronavirus, otherwise called Covid-19 (coronavirus disease 2019), is a crown-like virus which is from the family of Coronaviruses. About 5 different kinds of these viruses cause common diseases among humans like common colds, respiratory infections etc. Other kinds of coronaviruses affect animals. There is a theory that is still being researched on that the Covid-19 may have jumped from an animal into the human body.

SYMPTOMS OF THE VIRUS
People infected with the coronavirus will experience:
  • Mild to moderate respiratory illness such as coughing, sneezing
  • High temperature(fever)
  • Headaches
  • Dry throat
  • Abdominal and chest pains
People actually recover without any special treatment. While old people, infants as well as  people having other health issues like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic respiratory diseases and cancer are more likely to develop serious illness which may lead to death.

PREVENTION: Like the adage says, 'prevention is better than cure'. So here are steps to safely guide you through this plague:
  1. Wash your hands with soap and running water for at least 20 seconds. Also apply alcohol based sanitizers on your hands
  2. Wear a face mask when around people and keep your distances, at least 2 metres apart
  3. Avoid touching objects around you, especially in a public place and avoid touching your face especially if your hands have not been washed properly
  4. Stay home more often and avoid going out unnecessarily
HOW THE VIRUS SPREADS:
The virus is mainly transmitted through droplets generated when an infected person coughs, sneezes or exhales. These droplets are too heavy to hang in the air, unlike other airborne diseases that stay on the air longer and goes down in tiny drops. The coronavirus droplets rather, fall on floors or surfaces as soon as they are let out. One can be infected by breathing in the virus when in close proximity with an infected person or by touching a contaminated surface and then your eyes, nose or mouth.

CONQUERING THE VIRUS:
Just like everyone in life are faced with different challenges, there comes a time when they conquer it, irrespective of the pains they had to go through, its a step by step process. Covid-19 is a challenge to the world, how we fight it matters. Yes, during this time people are going through so much;
  • Relationships are getting strained
  • Depressions are setting in
  • People are loosing faiths
Look, how you fight this matters. Are you going to adhere to instructions that would guide you, see this as another phase in life that will soon pass, or beat yourself into frustration. The choice is yours, either you choose to live and fulfill your dreams or die and go to some horror place where you don't see Mama anymore.

CHOOSE WISELY!!

Admiration Thus Envy

When did we become ruthless people, people who think of only themselves. When did we come to that state of seeing other people's success as a bad thing. So, a person's growth, a person's talents, a person doing well for himself, becomes a problem to his neighbor that's not doing well. No, funny enough, and sadly at the same time, people have come to resent other people that do better than them. They coat their tongue with that popular saying, which sounds to them like encouragement.. "If he or she is doing well, I can do better.."  Oh Yes you can, but trying to outshine a person is no longer normal.. It is an abuse of the context of humanity. Do well! Try harder, live right, work hard.. But never make the mistake of weighing the reasons why you should be better than another. Everyone has got their race, everyone has got their individual purposes, and it might interest you to know that the height one reaches can never be your height because the beauty is, ever...

Thoughts On My Desk

Thoughts on my Desk Why can't people admire Elegance and modesty? What is so interesting about being loose and unruly? What is admirable about being loud and disrespectful? What is?  Gone are the days when people admired the right things.. when girls were covered up and men had to marry them before they could even view their cleavages.. Gone are the days when guys were were found dressing and speaking respectfully, Mothers sang their praises.. So, I wondered what could have gone wrong now...  I then sat down to draw the map but it led me to one diagnosis, people prefer being puppets to what others want. Because look at it, oh, this behavior and fashion is celebrated.. it's out there thriving and mounting on top, so why can't I do same.. irrespective of the fact that it reduces my value in the eye of sensible precepts. They know it's very wrong but they do it anyway, for what? Pleasant commentaries that will only hang on social media? At the detriment of your value? At ...

The Complemented

I recently observed the trend in which people reject compliments. I've got to see that people refuse compliments, not because they want to, but because they don't believe it, and I can draw the reasons out from two factors: The Past and The People.  Now, let's break the former in bits, shall we... Some persons have gone through what I call 'Fake Compliments'.. a mockery coated in sweet words to applaud someone, but at the length of that discussion, the real poisonous word comes out. Let's take an everyday African discussion for example.. Ade:Wow, your dress is nice Sarah:Oh really, thank you.. I got them from this stall Ade:Lol, is that so.. no wonder Sarah: No wonder what? Ade: The colors don't really match, but they're good on you though.. I know you don't know a lot about fashion Sarah: so are you now saying I don't look good in it again? Ade: Not really Here, Ade's words have quenched a light in Sarah's mind. First, you get a compli...
