I recently observed the trend in which people reject compliments. I've got to see that people refuse compliments, not because they want to, but because they don't believe it, and I can draw the reasons out from two factors: The Past and The People. Now, let's break the former in bits, shall we... Some persons have gone through what I call 'Fake Compliments'.. a mockery coated in sweet words to applaud someone, but at the length of that discussion, the real poisonous word comes out. Thoughts on my Desk Why can't people admire Elegance and modesty? What is so interesting about being loose and unruly? What is admirable about being loud and disrespectful? What is? Gone are the days when people admired the right things.. when girls were covered up and men had to marry them before they could even view their cleavages.. Gone are the days when guys were were found dressing and speaking respectfully, Mothers sang their praises.. So, I wondered what could have gone wrong now... I then sat down to draw the map but it led me to one diagnosis, people prefer being puppets to what others want. Because look at it, oh, this behavior and fashion is celebrated.. it's out there thriving and mounting on top, so why can't I do same.. irrespective of the fact that it reduces my value in the eye of sensible precepts.
